Dan Carlin Dr. Daniel Carlin M.D.
Dr. Daniel Carlin M.D. established WorldClinic in 1998. Drawing on years of experience as a medical officer in the US Navy and later as an expatriate volunteer, he designed WorldClinic to meet the needs of people whose work and lifestyle frequently took them out of contact with modern medical care. Since then, he has become a recognized leader in using the Internet and telecommunications to deliver quality medicine.

Co-Chairman of Genworth Financial Wealth Management
Ron D. Cordes has enjoyed a 25+ year career in the investment industry, having co-founded and then sold AssetMark Investment Services to Genworth Financial in 2006. He is currently co-chairman of Genworth Financial Wealth Management, which is responsible for over $24 billion of assets under management for individual and institutional clients.
Cordes speaks and writes extensively in the field of impact investing, and chairs the Executive Committee for ImpactAssets, a new initiative to catalyze capital for impact investments formed in partnership with the Calvert Foundation.


David Eisenberg David Eisenberg
David Eisenberg is the segment leader responsible for leading Mercer’s investment consulting services to U.S. wealth management providers. He is a principal, based in Mercer's Boston office. He assists wealth management clients with evaluating, selecting, monitoring, and managing sub-advisors, risk management in multi-manager or asset allocation portfolios, and investment policy development. Previously, David was a senior portfolio manager in Mercer's manager of manager's program, where his primary responsibility was manager evaluation, selection and oversight, and transition of client portfolios.
David has over 30 years of experience in investment management and consulting. In addition to his roles at Mercer, he has consulted to endowment, retirement, and public plan sponsors on investment policy, strategy, and manager selection. On the investment management side, he managed US equity portfolios at Trinity Investment Management and Atlantic Investment Advisors, and served as the Chief Equity Officer at John Hancock Advisors.

Ms. Darby Hobbs recently launched SOCIAL3®, a firm focused on fusing brand and sustainability principles for asset growth by cultivating the ESG (Environment, Social and Governance) storyline and ensuring the firm’s vision and strategy align with its marketplace engagement. SOCIAL3’s development originated with Ms. Hobbs’ certification in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) which she received in 2009. Prior to this, Ms. Hobbs was SVP, Global Head of Marketing, Brown Brothers Harriman (BBH).
As a senior leader and most often CVO, Chief Visionary Officer, Ms. Hobbs sees around the curve to the next business development opportunity and has delivered this thinking in senior roles of strategy, brand development, marketing and business development.


  Bruce Kahn, Ph.D.
Bruce has over 25 years of experience in environmental and investment research and management.  Currently, Bruce is the Portfolio Manager of a Global Equity portfolio which focuses on agribusiness.  Previously, Bruce was a Director in Deutsche Bank’s Asset Management division where he acted as an investment strategist conducting high-level analytical research on sustainable investing including clean tech, water and agricultural-based investment strategies as well as ESG/SRI strategies.  Prior to that, he managed assets at Smith Barney's Private Wealth Management Group in sustainable investments including agri-business and clean tech for Foundation/Endowment, HNWI and Institutional clients.  Bruce currently serves as a Trustee and member of the Finance Committee of the Jesse Smith Noyes Foundation, a US endowment and funder of sustainable agriculture organizations in the US. He also serves as a member of the Board of Visitors for the Gaylord Nelson Institute of Environmental Studies at the University of Wisconsin, Madison and is on the Technical Review Panel of National Renewable Energy Laboratory.  Recently Bruce has joined the Advisory Council of the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board and serves on the Advisory Panel of Mercer Investment Consulting and Management’s Sustainable Opportunities Fund.

Thomas M. Kostigen is a New York Times bestselling author and veteran journalist. He has reported from war zones to the world’s wonders across five continents. A former global columnist for The Wall Street Journal Digital Network and editor at Bloomberg News, he contributes regularly to major publications worldwide, including, Discover (where he also wrote the Better Planet blog), Men’s Health, Best Life, The Financial Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Chicago Tribune, The Los Angeles Times, among many others -- such as Private Wealth.

Stephen M. Liberatore Stephen M. Liberatore, CFA
Stephen M. Liberatore, CFA is a managing director and fixed-income portfolio manager for the TIAA-CREF organization. Mr. Liberatore is responsible for investment strategy and securities selection for several of the organization’s fixed-income portfolios. He joined the TIAA-CREF organization in 2004.
Mr. Liberatore has 17 years of industry experience, including positions at Nationwide Mutual Insurance Co. and Protective Life Corporation, where he was responsible for portfolio management, credit research and trading for both total return and general account assets.
Mr. Liberatore holds a B.S. from the State University of New York at Buffalo and an MBA in finance and operations from Wake Forest University’s Babcock Graduate School of Management.  He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and is a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA North Carolina Society.


Abigail Noble Abigail Noble
Abigail is Head of Impact Investing at the World Economic Forum and co-author of the recently released report, “From the Margins to the Mainstream”. From 2010 until 2013, she served as the Head of Latin America and Africa for the Schwab Foundation for Social Entrepreneurship. She received her B.A. in Economics from Tufts University, her Master’s in International Development (MPA/ID) from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government, was a Global Leadership Fellow with the World Economic Forum and a Fulbright Scholar in Uruguay, where she studied democracy and economic development.

Prior to founding Return on Change, Sang worked as an investment banker in the energy field at WestLB and BNP Paribas, accruing a wealth of expertise in financial regulation, business, and financial structuring. Additionally, he has significant experience in the advisory and execution of more than $10.0 Bn equivalent of energy transactions in North America. Under his leadership, Return on Change has become a leader within the online funding industry, actively developing a diverse set of tools and robust platform to ensure both quality and ease of use.

Tim Smith Timothy Smith
Tim Smith serves as Senior Vice President, Director of ESG Shareowner Engagement at Walden Asset Management, a division of Boston Trust & Investment Management Company.  Walden has been a leader in sustainable and responsible investing (SRI) since 1975. As of June 30, 2012, Walden managed $2.3 billion in assets for individual and institutional clients. Mr. Smith joined Walden in October 2000 to lead Walden’s ongoing shareholder engagement program to promote greater corporate leadership on ESG issues. Among the areas Walden focuses on are sustainability reporting, political spending and lobbying, board diversity, executive compensation and governance, supply chain standards, water use, and human rights.


Sarah Smith Sarah Smith
Since 2006, Sarah has worked in the area of environmental, social and governance (ESG) research, first as an analyst working on customized client projects and deliverables, then moving into a client relations role. Focused primarily on the U.S. market, Sarah helps prospective clients identify their ESG research needs and find the responsible investment solution that suits them best. She communicates regularly with clients, providing education and support for all stakeholders, helping to identify new markets, and supporting their sales and marketing efforts through meetings and presentations. Sarah also speaks regularly on the topics of responsible investing and ESG investing at conferences.
