Independent wealth management firm Alexandra & James Inc. is joining New York-based Dynasty Financial Partners' network of independent advisors, officials announced today.

Lebenthal becomes the most recent independent investment advisory firm to tap into Dynasty Financial Partners' open-architecture platform of wealth management services and technology.

Alexandra & James LLC, which comprises the Alexandra & James wealth management and Lebenthal institutional investment banking businesses, will leverage Dynasty's capabilities, including technology, managed investments, institutional research, trust and insurance services and credit facilities.

The company will also access Dynasty's investment platform, which integrates the industry-leading proprietary research of Callan Associates with Envestnet's state-of-the-art tools and technology.

"Our clients expect advice and solutions that are independent, informed and state-of-the art," says Alexandra Lebenthal, CEO of Alexandra & James. "Dynasty delivers the very best of the industry in one customized integrated package, allowing us to offer our clients a level of service that simply couldn't be achieved a few years ago. Dynasty enables us to deliver uncompromised excellence to our clients, and we're thrilled to be on the platform."

Alexandra & James Wealth Management, with nearly $1 billion in assets, specializes in life-transition advisory services, investment management and personal CFO services for private clients.

"We've become a destination for corner-office breakaway advisors who want to be free of the conflicts and confinements of their wirehouse relationships and operate their own businesses," says Shirl Penney, President and CEO of Dynasty Financial Partners. "And that's obviously an important part of our model. But about half the advisors on our platform were already independent when they joined. These firms quickly realized that our state-of-the-art integrated platform is superior to their existing solutions and allows them to often save time and money, gain access to new capabilities, and most important, better serve their clients."
