The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority has started a new help line for seniors 65 and over that can be useful for investors of all ages.

Assistance is available Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Eastern Standard Time by calling 844-574-3577.

“The Finra Helpline for Seniors adds a level of attention and assistance to senior investors. This new resource will provide them access to specially trained Finra staff who stand ready to provide them with supportive assistance related to concerns they may have regarding their brokerage accounts and investments,” said spokesperson George Smaragdis.

He added younger investors who may call will receive information pertinent to their specific questions and circumstances.

Investors can also get assistance from Finra on the phone by calling the regulator’s main switchboard at 301-590-6500.

With the surge of baby boomers entering retirement, Finra said, the need to help them with potential broker problems has elevated.
