Warm days, inexpensive living and access to entertainment are a few of the elements that go into good retirement living. WalletHub, a personal financial website, has taken those characteristics and others into consideration to select the best states for retirement.

WalletHub’s ranking of the 50 states and the District of Columbia is based on 24 metrics that range from the adjusted cost of living to the number of museums and theaters, to public hospital rankings. Data was weighted based on importance, with affordability given the most weight.

Following in ascending order are the 10 top-ranked states:
