More than 14,000 candidates for the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation passed the final exam given in June and will become CFAs in October, pending experience requirements, the CFA Institute announced Tuesday.

Fifty-three percent of the 27,468 candidates, or 14,664, passed the Level III exam. The pass rate was on par with the average pass rate for the past 10 years.

In addition, 46,841 candidates took the Level II exam with 46 percent being successful. Another 51,134 candidates took the Level I exam with a pass rate was 42 percent.
