The Financial Planning Association is offering its members an
online update on the status of the broker-dealer exemption rule to the
Investment Adviser's Act of 1940.
The update comes as the rule is due to be fully
implemented January 31. The FPA has an ongoing lawsuit to fight the
rule.
The Virtual Learning Center seminar will be held Thursday, January 19, at noon EST.
FPA President Daniel Moisand and Duane Thompson,
managing director of the FPA's Washington D.C. office, will update
members on the status of the rule and the latest on the FPA's continued
opposition, according to the FPA.
The presentation will include a summary of the SEC's
interpretive guidance of the rule. An online question-and-answer
session will follow the 30-minute presentation.
FPA members may register for the update at http://www.fpanet.org/vlc.
