Laserfiche, a leading provider of digital document management systems to financial advisors, announced today the release of Intuition, a new desktop software application designed to specifically meet the needs of small financial advisory firms.

According to Laserfiche, there are roughly 10,000 small independent investment advisory firms managing more than $1.7 trillion of U.S. investor assets. Many of them still rely on paper documents and filing cabinets for their record-keeping, customer reporting and compliance requirements. Intuition, which reportedly can capture and manage millions of document pages, is designed to streamline paperwork and address regulatory requirements.

"Laserfiche has designed Intuition to help investment advisors minimize their paperwork and maximize their time and value to their customers," said Chris Wacker, Laserfiche's senior vice president of business development. "Intuition provides advisors the means to go paperless."

In addition, Laserfiche announced that they have teamed up with Visioneer Inc., a leading scanner company, to create a link through Visioneer's OneTouch Links software that allows users to scan documents directly into Intuition.

The OneTouch link to Intuition enables users to capture and manage scanned document pages in a single step with their Visioneer or Xerox DocuMate scanners. Once the link is installed, the scanned documents can be stored in a single, secure repository. This technology, combined with the advanced optical character recognition and text extraction functionality of Intuition, automatically indexes files to help locate information in seconds.

Intuition will be demonstrated in Booth #1100 at the Financial Planning Association (FPA) conference in Seattle from September 8-11. Laserfiche has partnered with Visioneer to offer a free scanner (retail $700) to the first 100 buyers of Intuition. The scanner includes Visioneer's OneTouch technology.
