Congressman Barney Frank (D-MA), Chair of the U.S. House of Representatives Financial Services Committee, will be the keynote speaker at the Pride Planners Association national conference in Washington, D.C., on September 27-29. Frank plans to discuss the current climate in Washington regarding financial services and retirement issues to what's billed as the nation's only financial conference focused on the financial and estate planning issues of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender (LGBT) community.
The Pride Planners Association is a national organization of financial, tax, insurance, investment and estate planning professionals who specialize in meeting the needs of the LGBT community, non-traditional families, and unmarried couples.
Conference sessions are designed to spotlight the changing laws for serving the complex needs of this market segment, including updates on marriage, civil unions and domestic partnerships, estate planning and trusts for beloved pets, estate planning to benefit crucial causes, and common pitfalls in real estate ownership for LGBT couples.
The conference takes place at the L'Enfant Plaza Hotel. For a full list of speakers, session topics, and registration information, go to http://www.prideplanners.org.
