High-net-worth clients consider responsiveness the most-desired trait for selecting a financial advisor, according to a survey of affluent investors by the Spectrem Group, a financial services consulting company.

Of those surveyed, 89% wanted an advisor they can quickly contact with questions and problems. A close second (85%) on the criteria list was an advisor with a good track record of investment performance.

Also valued by affluent individuals are advisors who offer a wide range of products and services (74%), advisors who work with multiple financial services providers (68%) and advisors who are local (68%).

Less desired by the affluent are advisors who offer low fees (46%) and firms that are part of a nationwide system of offices (34%).
