Sanders Morris Harris Group Inc. today said it completed its acquisition of Miller-Green Financial Group, a deal that brings together two Houston-based wealth management firms. It's the fifth acquisition in the past year for Sanders Morris' expanding Asset/Wealth Management Division, and it boosts the company's total assets under management to more than $17.4 billion. Terms of the deal weren't announced.

Miller-Green is a 25-year-old company that manages roughly $400 million in assets.

"Miller-Green has had a successful, longstanding association with Sanders Morris Harris through SMH Partners, our independent division," Stephen R. Cordill, president of Sanders Morris Harris's Asset/Wealth Management Division, said in a statement. "We've admired the way Miller-Green's business has grown over the years and it was a logical progression for us to incorporate Bert [Miller] and his team into the Sanders Morris Harris family as they enter their next phase of growth."
