Barrow, Hanley, Mewhinney & Strauss, a value-oriented investment manager based in Dallas, has hired Ross M. Campbell to expand its responsible investing efforts, the firm announced Wednesday.

Campbell will be director of responsible investing and will add depth to Barrow Hanley’s integration of environmental, social and governance factors into the firm’s investment process, Barrow Hanley said.

He also will be part of the investment team, where he will assist in managing the recently launched U.S. Value and Emerging Markets Value ESG strategies.

Previously, Campbell was president of SRI Research Group, a consulting firm focused on assisting companies with corporate disclosures and corporate sustainability reports.

Barrow Hanley has $6 billion in socially responsible investing funds and $91.2 billion in assets under management.
