LPL Financial, the nation’s largest independent broker-dealer, announced today that Bill Chetney has been named president of LPL Retirement Partners, effective January 1.

Chetney is currently the executive vice president of LPL Retirement Partners. In the newly created position, he will continue to report directly to Robert Moore, president, LPL Financial Holdings Inc.

Previously, Chetney served as founder, CEO, and president of National Retirement Partners (NRP), which offered retirement-related services to employer’s nationwide and financial services to high-net-worth individuals.

Since joining LPL in 2010 when the broker-dealer acquired certain assets of NRP, Chetney helped establish Retirement Partners as a resource supporting more than 5,000 participating advisors with benefits and services.

Under Chetney’s leadership, LPL Retirement Partners has recruited more than 400 advisors, growing the overall retirement plan asset base to more than $94 billion, according to the firm.
