Oracle CEO Lawrence Ellison is the world's top billionaire island owner, with a 90,240-acre Hawaiian island that includes two resorts and two championship golf courses, according to Wealth-X.

Ellison’s island is named Lanai and he bought it last year from U.S. businessman David Murdock.

Others on the list include French business titan Bernard Arnault, who owns 133-acre Indigo Island, a Caribbean island with hilltop villas, beaches and a marina, according to Wealth-X, a research firm that focuses on the ultra-wealthy market.

Google CEO Larry Page is also among the top five island owners with his 30-acre Eustatia Island in the British Virgin Islands.

Rounding out the top five are Paul Allen, Microsoft co-founder and chairman of Vulcan Inc., who owns 292-acre Allan Island off Washington State, and Russian oligarch Roman Abramovich, who owns New Holland Island off St. Petersburg, Russia.

All of the top island owners are from the U.S. or Europe, suggesting that the cachet of buying prestigious island properties has yet to establish itself in Asia, Wealth-X says.
