Bob Doll, BlackRock's chief equity strategist, announced today that he was retiring after 34 years in the investment management business. Doll had held a similar position at Merrill Lynch Investment Management before it was acquired by BlackRock in 2005.

BlackRock said Chris Leavy, its chief investment officer of fundamental equities (Americas), will assume portfolio management of BlackRock's Large Cap series of portfolios, along with Peter Stournaras, who has co-managed the series since 2010. Doll will remain as an advisor to BlackRock through 2012.
