Blaine Aikin has been elected 2016 chairman-elect of the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards board of directors, the board announced Tuesday.

Aikin is CEO of fi360, a firm founded in 1999 in Bridgeville, Pa., that provides consulting services to financial services companies. The company also provides the Accredited Investment Fiduciary and Accredited Investment Fiduciary Analyst designation programs.

Prior to joining fi360, Aikin was the director of product development and management at PNC Bank, headquartered in Pittsburgh, CIO of Allegiance Financial Advisors iin Jacksonville, Fla., and served in federal and local government.

In addition to Aikin’s selection, the board elected four new members: Phillip Cunningham, Michael Davis, Susan John and Arlene Pietranton.

Cunningham is CEO of Advicent Solutions, a Milwaukee-based technology provider for the financial services industry.

Davis is director of institutional client relationships at Calvert Investments in Bethesda, Md. He previously served for four years in the Obama Administration as the deputy assistant secretary of the U.S. Department of Labor’s Employee Benefit Security Administration.

John is the founder and president of Financial Focus Inc., a financial planning firm in Wolfeboro, N.H. John served two terms on the national board of directors for the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors, serving as chair from 2010 to 2012, where she was active with the Financial Planning Coalition.

Pietranton, CEO of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association in Rockville, Md., will serve as a public member of the CFP board.
