Bond mutual funds saw an inflow of cash from investors running away from equity funds in November, the Investment Company Institute reported Tuesday.

The reverse was true the month before.

Investors put $14.91 billion more into bond funds in November after net withdrawals of $1.98 billion in October.

Equity mutual funds, on the other hand, experienced an outflow of $2.25 billion last month following a $5.19 billion gain for October.

Mutual funds saw a total inflow of $21.10 billion for the latest reported month, a month-to-month increase of 10 percent.

Overall, fund assets increased 1.3 percent in a month to $15.96 trillion for November.
