Calamos Investments has named Gary Black global co-chief investment officer and a member of the firm's investment committee. Black will lead the investment team and will oversee portfolio management, research, trading and risk management. Calamos also acquired Black Capital LLC, which Black founded and served as chief executive officer and chief investment officer. The acquisition of Black Capital adds a dedicated long/short equity investment team, expanding Calamos' capabilities in alternative strategies. Prior to that, Black served as chief executive officer of Janus Capital Group and chief investment officer of global equities at Goldman Sachs Asset Management.
