The Center for Financial Planning has awarded scholarships to aspiring financial planners, the center announced Thursday.

The Milton Stern Scholars Fund recipients were Arielle Bryant of the Bronx, N.Y., and Amy Brotka of West Seneca, N.Y. The scholarship is a $5,000 award granted to individuals residing in Connecticut, New Jersey or New York who are pursuing a certificate program in financial planning and demonstrate financial need. This scholarship was established by the family of Milton Stern, CFP, and Bridgewater Advisors Inc. in New York City.

The Deena Jo Heide-Diesslin Scholarship was awarded to Margarita Pascual of New York City. The scholarship is a $5,000 award honoring an individual from an underrepresented population who is pursuing a certificate program in financial planning. David H. Diesslin, CFP, the former chair of the CFP Board of Directors, designed the scholarship to honor the memory of his late wife, Deena, with an emphasis on educating women and minority populations.
