Richard P. Rojeck is the new chair of the board of directors for the CFP Board of Standards Inc., the organization announced Thursday.

Rojeck is a managing director with Lincoln Financial Advisors and has maintained a financial planning practice for more than three decades. Before launching his practice in 1981, he served for six years as an officer in the U.S. Navy.

The board elected Rojeck as chair-elect in July 2013, and he served in that capacity in 2014. He began his duties as chair on January 1, 2015.

“The CFP certification is the cornerstone of the financial planning profession and serves as the highest standard for financial advice,” says Rojeck. “Along with my colleagues on the board, I look forward to increasing the number of CFP professionals [and] building even greater awareness of the certification and its many benefits among those who would become certified and be served by CFP professionals.”
