The Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards’ Career Center will hold its first online job fair Sept. 13, the center announced Thursday.

The online session will be open to CFP professionals, financial planning students and others looking for jobs in the financial planning profession who want to talk with firms of all business models. The session will be open from 1p.m. to 4 p.m. EDT.

“Attracting and developing the next generation of financial planners to replace the retiring workforce is critical, and it all starts with making meaningful connections between firms and those who are seeking financial planning positions in the industry,” says Marilyn Mohrman-Gillis, CFP Board Center for Financial Planning executive director. "The CFP Board Career Center is helping to make these connections every day, and the career fair is a natural extension of that work.”

The CFP Board Career Center is an initiative of the CFP Board Center for Financial Planning. The online session will connect individuals directly with financial services organizations seeking talent through one-on-one text-based and video chats. The event is free to job seekers, and employers are invited to participate for a fee. Additional information can be found at www.CFP.net/CareerFair.

“The Career Fair is a unique opportunity for both job seekers and employers,” says Dr. Lisa Andrews, CFP Board Career Center manager. “Firms can avoid the time and costs of traveling to an in-person career fair and recruit right from their desks, while those who are looking for a job in the financial services industry will have real-time access to firms right at their fingertips.”
