The CFP certification exam will be administered November 18 through November 22 in a computer-based test format for the first time, the CFP Board of Standards said Thursday.
The new format will change the testing procedure and make preliminary test results available immediately, with results available in three weeks rather than the five weeks required previously.
The test will take six hours and be completed in one day. The paper test required 10 hours over two days. The switch to computer-based testing was announced in January.
Some 2,200 candidates are registered to take the first computer-based test at one of the 250 testing sites across the country. The testing will be conducted with the assistance of Prometric, a professional licensing testing service.
