“That many Americans are successful should not be seen as the problem,” Donohue said.
Instead of devising ways to slice up the economic pie, he said the focus should be on expanding the pie.
A major barrier to that, said Donohue, are the 30 percent of American adults who are high school dropouts or otherwise lack basic skills demanded by industry.
