Several advisors suggested sending a written follow up note to review what has been decided and state what each party is to do before the next meeting.
“Advisors all have the technical skills,” says Lee Miller, regional director for Glenmede Trust Co. in New York City. “But we are not necessarily trained for the softer skills. Advisors are starting to talk more about this realm of the practice and are hiring outside consultants to develop the skills to help aging clients.”
