Travel-wise.com, an information source for potential vacationers, has compiled the 10 countries where it feels tourists face the most danger, despite the appealing history, culture or geography of the area.

Following in ascending order are the most dangerous spots and the reasons they pose a threat.

No. 10: India

Culturally rich and physically stunning, India is nevertheless a treacherous vacation spot because of the hazardous traffic, unsanitary living conditions and food safety.

 

No. 9: Egypt

Known for its famous pyramids and ancient culture, Egypt today remains under a high threat of terrorism. Bordered by the Gaza Strip, Israel, Libya and Sudan, the country is located within the world’s most dangerous political region.
