Drexel Hamilton LLC, a New York City-based institutional broker-dealer, and Combined Insurance have donated $20,000 to help provide transportation to families of wounded veterans, Drexel Hamilton said Tuesday.

The money goes to Luke’s Wings, a not-for-profit organization that provides transportation for family members to visit wounded veterans in hospitals or rehabilitation centers.

The broker-dealer and the insurance company, which has been named the No. 1 "Military Friendly Employer" in the United States by Victory Media’s G.I. Jobs Magazine for two years in a row, have launched a partnership to support veterans.

The money donated for the holiday season will provide transportation for 40 families, according to Drexel Hamilton. Luke’s Wings has raised a total of $3 million to support veterans.

“We are extremely grateful to individuals who put their lives on the line so that we can continue to enjoy the freedoms of this country,” says James Cahill, Drexel Hamilton president. “We are honored to have joined forces with Combined Insurance to recognize our veterans’ sacrifices and give back to the veteran community.”
