Edelman Financial Services is opening six new offices in New York and New Jersey.

Edelman, based in Fairfax, Va., manages nearly $4 billion for more than 11,000 clients across the country. It ranked No. 14 among independent advisory firms in the United States in Financial Advisor magazine's 2009 RIA survey.

Edelman's new offices in New York are in Manhattan, Staten Island, Garden City and White Plains, and the New Jersey offices are in Saddle Brook and Short Hills.

The firm's founder, Ric Edelman, has been providing financial advice to consumers for almost 25 years. His nationally syndicated radio program, The Ric Edelman Show, airs Sundays from 10 a.m. to noon on 77WABC Radio. He has written seven books, including his newest title, Rescue Your Money.
