Evolving Our Focus

March 2009

Since the launch of Private Wealth in June of 2007, we've listened closely to your feedback and tracked industry trends to make sure we're covering topics you and your wealthiest clients most care about. As part of that effort, we've added two sections that will be in every issue moving forward.

The Client Experience will explore the varied and unique approaches to servicing affluent clients used by leading private wealth advisors. The new section reflects the critical importance of cultivating client relationships, particularly during times of financial and economic uncertainty. As investment performance falters in a volatile market, high-touch service will help professionals differentiate themselves and retain business. The section premieres in this issue with a look at how multigenerational service has become a key component at Wells Fargo's Family Wealth Group.

Asset Management Spotlight will focus on the core role of investments in comprehensive wealth management and offer profiles of noteworthy and innovative investment firms. Each profile will examine the processes, products and resources in their platform of capabilities. We'll focus on companies that work with advisors and other centers of influence to support ultra-affluent clients. Things get started in this issue with a story about DWS Investments and its efforts to expand into the U.S. market.

Our goal for these features is to give the readers of Private Wealth new perspectives on the demanding and intricate business of working with exceptionally wealthy individuals and families. We'll continue to deliver the broad cross section of topics and insights you've come to expect with, starting in this issue, a new bimonthly schedule. Our regular departments will continue to examine influential trends in philanthropy, family offices, advanced planning, alternative investments, practice management, multigenerational dynamics, luxury and other fundamental components of managing wealth. As always, we welcome your thoughts and ideas.
