The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau have published online a Spanish language guide to help seniors avoid financial fraud.

The 61 page booklet, based on the agencies’ Money Smart for Older Adults publication in English, has advice for the elderly on identity theft, telephone scams, how to prepare for financial emergencies, and scams targeting homeowners and veterans.

“With nearly four million Spanish-speaking older adults across the country, this tool adds a new resource to help Spanish-speaking seniors prevent, respond to, and report abuse,” said FDIC Chairman Martin Gruenberg.
