The Financial Planning Association (FPA) today announced details of its 10th annual Financial Planning Week, a week-long event from Oct. 3 to Oct. 9, dedicated to raising public awareness about the value of financial planning.

FPA chapters have events scheduled throughout October to educate Americans on the financial planning process.

"Financial Planning Week is the perfect opportunity to educate Americans about the financial planning process and the positive impact it can have on their financial futures," said Marvin W. Tuttle Jr., executive director and CEO of the FPA. "I am continuously inspired by the extent that FPA chapters and members volunteer to help improve the lives of those in their communities."

Financial Planning Week activities include:

Personal finances seminars that focus, among other things, on the basics of financial planning, budgeting and saving for retirement.

One-on-one financial planning counseling session.

Telephone hotlines.
