Financial Planning Days, during which people can receive free financial planning services, will be held in 25 cities between September 27 and November 8, the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards announced Thursday.

During the sessions, CFP professionals will be available to the public at schools, municipal buildings and libraries. This is the fifth year the program has been held. It is sponsored by the CFP Board, Financial Planning Association, Foundation for Financial Planning and the U.S. Conference of Mayors.

The goal of the program is to bring free financial planning advice to the general public through one-on-one sessions and group workshops. Volunteer CFP professionals will answer questions about budgeting, managing debt, income taxes, estate planning, insurance and other financial issues.
