RightCapital, a fintech company based in New York City, has raised $1 million in seed funding for its digital platform for financial advisors and independent broker-dealers.

On Monday, the firm announced that the additional funding will provide RightCapital with resources to enhance its platform, including expanded lead generation, a DOL solution and additional financial and tax planning capabilities.

The co-founders, brothers Shuang Chen and Song Chen, expect their user base to continue to grow as they expand the platform.

"We created RightCapital with the goal of developing a next-generation financial planning software that advisors can use to simplify the financial planning experience for their clients,"  Shuang Chen, CEO of RightCapital, said in a statement. "This round of funding will help us reach more advisors and deliver significant product updates while expanding the financial planning and tax planning capabilities for advisors of all sizes and across all generations."

Since going live in September 2015, RightCapital has on-boarded more than 200 financial advisor firms.
