Four former Merrill Lynch advisors have created a new RIA firm, Quadrant Private Wealth LLC in Bethlehem Pa., and partnered with Focus Financial Partners LLC, Focus announced Thursday.

Quadrant was formed by Herman L. Rij, Jason B. Cort, Kori Lannon and Brian C. Cort, who managed more than $750 million in client assets. Quadrant has been launched through the Focus Connections program, a Focus Financial program that helps wirehouse teams transition their business and launch their own independent wealth management firms.

Rij has served as a wealth advisor for more than 40 years at Merrill Lynch and was named one of Barron’s Top 1,000 Financial Advisors for six consecutive years, according to Focus. Prior to forming Quadrant, the founding partners worked as a team at the Rij, Cort, Lannon & Associates Group at Merrill Lynch.

The firm will serve high-net-worth individuals and families, as well as businesses and other organizations.

This is Focus’s fourth new partnership since the beginning of 2014. Earlier this year, IFM Capital Advisors launched a multi-office firm. Additionally, former Morgan Stanley and RBC advisors joined Beirne Wealth Consulting and Sapient Private Wealth Management, respectively.
