The FPA is embracing the bionic future of financial advice.

The Denver-based Financial Planning Association announced a strategic partnership with New York-based robo-advisory platform Betterment for Advisors on Tuesday.

In a released statement, FPA Executive Director Lauren M. Schadle said that the move will integrate Betterment’s resources into the association to support its membership of CFP professionals.

“Our members and all CFP professionals are increasingly interested in learning how digital investment advice can augment the robust financial planning services they are providing clients while staying true to the high-touch level of advice they are already providing,” Schadle said. “This partnership is a step in the right direction to educating and supporting the financial planning community.”

The FPA hopes that the strategic partnership will help FPA members better understand the opportunities for business development provided by financial technology and will lead to innovation on new ways to combine financial technology with professional financial planning.

As part of their partnership, the FPA and Betterment for Advisors announced plans to explore specific possibilities for collaboration and thought leadership throughout the coming months.
