The Financial Planning Association has entered into an agreement with the Academy of Financial Services to co-publish the academy's journal, the Financial Services Review.

This quarterly journal, which has been published since 1992, highlights the latest research in the financial services industry by the academic community and financial planning professionals.

An electronic version of the journal will be available to all FPA members, said Lauren M. Schadle, FPA executive director and CEO.

The FPA will continue to publish the Journal of Financial Planning. The new agreement will allow the FPA to expose more practitioners to high-level academic research while simultaneously exposing academic researchers to a broader professional audience, according to the organization.

"FPA and AFS share the desire to encourage basic and applied research in personal financial planning, as well as the need for interaction between financial services professionals and academicians,” said Lance Palmer, president of AFS and associate professor at the University of Georgia. “Working together, we can bring these groups into greater alignment for the benefit of the profession and the people it serves."
