Broker-dealer FSC Securities Corp. has recruited Eric Burton and Ron Whittingham and their practice, Megent Financial, which previously was affiliated with LPL Financial. Under the arrangement, Megent brings over $250 million in assets under management to FSC.

Burton, managing director of Megent, said the firm chose to partner with FSC because of its independence and open architecture platform that will help Megent grow its business and better serve clients.

"FSC's commitment to helping us recruit talented advisors to our firm is unique to the industry and we were very impressed with the cutting-edge technology offered to advisors," Burton said in a prepared statement.

Megent Financial is an independent retirement and investment services firm in the greater Chicago area and is independent of FSC Securities Corporation. Megent works closely with clients who are primarily union workers.

Atlanta-based FSC Securities Corp. operates a network of independent advisors. It owns and operates All Ways Open Architecture, a proprietary open platform system.
