The Financial Services Institute (FSI) has added 500 independent financial advisors from Geneos Wealth Management and Kovack Securities.

The firms have provided each of the new advisors' first-year memberships on a complimentary basis, according to FSI.

Geneos Wealth Management is an independent broker-dealer headquartered in Centennial, Colo.

Kovack Advisors is an SEC-registered investment advisor headquartered in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., with independent advisors located across the country.

FSI's mission is to create a more responsible regulatory environment for independent broker-dealers and their affiliated independent financial advisors through effective advocacy, education and public awareness. FSI has over 100 financial services firm members and over 35,000 financial advisor members. FSI member firms have approximately 160,000 financial advisors affiliated with it.
