Two trailblazers will be honored for their contributions to the financial services industry by The Financial Women’s Association (FWA) at its annual awards dinner.

The FWA announced that Cathy Englebert, CEO of Deloitte LLP, will receive the Trailblazer of the Year Award and that Lisa Schlosser, deputy federal chief information officer in the Office of Management and Budget, will receive the Public Sector Woman of the Year Award at its 31st Annual Women of the Year Awards Dinner on May 11.

Engelbert was elected CEO of Deloitte LLP in February, becoming the first female CEO of a U.S. professional services firm. Engelbert joined the firm in 1986, previously serving as CEO and chairman of its audit subsidiary.

Schlosser, a retired lieutenant colonel from the U.S. Army Reserves, has previously worked with the Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. She has also served as vice president, business operations and response services for watchdog NPO Global Integrity, and as a senior manager with Ernst & Young LLP.

Founded in 1956, the New York-based FWA is a network of female professionals from throughout the financial world. The network focuses on enhancing the role of women in finance and developing the next cohort of young female leaders.

Since 1984, the FWA has recognized distinguished women in the public and private sectors for their contributions to the financial industry. The FWA Annual Dinner and Women of the Year Awards raises funds for the FWA’s educational programs, which to date have impacted 5,000 young professionals and students, some from economically disadvantaged.
