A fallen Wall Street investment advisor who reportedly served as the muse for Leonardo DiCaprio's portrayal of Jordan Belfort in the movie "Wolf of Wall Street" was found dead in his New York City Upper West Side apartment Sunday morning, according to news reports.

Known for hard partying and palling around with world-class movie stars and singers, Dana Giacchetto, 53, died after a weekend of partying that reportedly included a scuffle with a security guard at a Lower East Side club. Known as the ‘Stock Broker to the Stars,’ Giachetto had been hospitalized several times for drug and alcohol abuse, including a week before his death, according to news reports.

He was reportedly found in bed foaming at the mouth after his former girlfriend, with whom he has two children, could not reach him Sunday morning.

Giacchetto was in New York City to attend the premiere of the documentary "Legends of Freestyle" with singer Lisa Lisa, as well as the film's director, longtime friend Steve Stanulis, an ex-cop and stripper who once worked as a bouncer at Giacchetto's parties during his high-flying heyday in the 1990s, according to news reports. The Hollywood Reporter described him as a “whirling dervish of hedonism."

He served three years in prison in the early 2000s after pleading guilty to fraud for swindling some $20 million from his famous clients. He was an investment advisor and friend to stars such as DiCaprio, Michael Stipe of the rock band R.E.M., Cameron Diaz, Matt Damon and many others.

He was back in court again in 2014, sentenced to two years probation for charging more than $10,000 for an airline ticket, food and liquor to Stanulis' credit card.
