Edward Rosenberg has been named senior vice president and head of an exchange-traded fund initiative at American Century Investments in Kansas City, Mo.

Rosenberg will be responsible for creating American Century’s new line of active ETFs for investors. Rosenberg also will be responsible for building relationships with market makers, authorized participants and exchanges.

Rosenberg joins American Century, a $165 billion global asset management firm, from Northern Trust’s FlexShares business, where he served as senior vice president and head of ETF capital markets and analytics.

American Century has a unique relationship with medical philanthropy. The controlling owner is the non-profit Stowers Institute for Medical Research, a medical research facility in Kansas City that draws scientists from around the globe to do cutting-edge research on cancer and degenerative diseases.
