Shaffer Wealth Management of Atlanta, Ga., is the first advisor team to join the newly formed HighTower Network. The network is the broker-dealer, custodian affiliate to Chicago-based HighTower Advisors.
Shaffer Wealth Management oversees $300 million in assets. The team consists of Roger Shaffer as managing director, Rhonda Lamb as executive director and Perry Neuman as senior director. Combined, they have over 50 years of experience in the financial services industry. They previously worked for SunTrust Investment Services, Inc., Alexander Key Division.
Advisors that join HighTower Network gain a multi-clearing and multi-custodial platform with industry leading trust companies, insurance companies, and other service providers necessary to meet the needs of high-net-worth investors. They do not receive equity or become employees, as they do with HighTower Advisors, but rather own and operate their own businesses in a structure similar to advisors who affiliate with an independent broker-dealer or custodian.
