The Investment Management Consultants Association (IMCA) today announced four new officers and one new member to its 2014 board of directors.

John Nersesian has been appointed incoming chair; he has been a board member since 2006. Nersesian is managing director of Nuveen Investments in Chicago, Ill., where he provides wealth management, practice development education and consulting support to financial advisors. Nersesian previously was a vice president at Merrill Lynch Private Client Group, where he was a leader in comprehensive wealth management strategies and business development practices training. 

Scott G. Thayer has been appointed vice-chair; he has been a board member since 2008. Thayer is executive director, institutional consultant at Graystone Consulting/Morgan Stanley in Santa Rosa, Calif. His office focuses primarily on middle-market foundation and endowment clients. Previously, Thayer taught in the Department of Finance at Chico State University in California.

Kevin Sánchez has been appointed treasurer; he has been a board member since 2012. Sánchez is a senior institutional consultant at UBS Institutional Consulting in Walnut Creek, Calif. He works with boards of nonprofit organizations, foundations, and endowments on prudent investment policies, portfolio design and implementation, and fiduciary liability review.

David Koulish has been appointed secretary; he has been a board member since 2012. Koulish has more than 30 years of experience in portfolio and wealth management. He currently is senior vice president/regional investment practice leader, east region for Northern Trust in Miami, Fla. Prior to joining Northern Trust, Koulish was a senior vice president and portfolio manager at Key Trust Company of Florida. 

Dorothy Bossung is a new member to IMCA’s 2014 board of directors. She is executive vice president of Lowery Asset Consulting, a Chicago-based registered investment advisory firm. Bossung provides consulting services to Lowery’s institutional and family office clients and is active in manager research, tactical and strategic allocation decisions, and is a member of the firm’s investment committee.
