Infrastructure investments tend to be of two types: those companies that own the assets (low risk, value types of plays with stable earnings) and then companies involved in build-outs that have more rapid growth potential.

Robert Markman, a portfolio manager at the Markman Global Build Out Fund (MGBOX), says that ETFs will get a lot of attention in the infrastructure sector, but says that few of them focus on the global build-out, and what's more, they are thinly traded.
