Investopedia, an online source of investment and financial information, has launched a platform to connect advisors with mass affluent investors, Investopedia announced Monday.

The Advisor Insights platform is designed to connect mass affluent investors, and people who use robo-advice platforms, with advisors who are willing to answer consumers’ questions. The platform is designed to help investors understand the financial world by providing access to financial expertise.

“Despite the rise of robo-advisors, technology is evolving from a competitive threat into a growth enabler that helps advisors enhance their existing value proposition,” says Greg Fraser, senior vice president of product at Investopedia. “Our digital platform will allow thousands of advisors to build trust and credibility among the next generation of clients.”

People with financial questions can submit them to an advisor on the Investopedia Advisor Insight page. An advisor can then answer the question and members of the public can see both the question and answer.

Advisors are vetted by FiComm Partners, a communications firm specializing in the independent financial advisory community and a strategic partner to the Advisor Insights initiative. Each advisor will have a profile on the Advisor Insight page that lets users track the content they produce, including articles and responses to questions.

Investopedia will chart trends and insights from user questions to help advisors address the concerns and interests of individual investors on saving and spending, as well as financial products and investments.
