Jane Jarcho, an attorney who has spent nearly 25 years at the Securities and Exchange Commission, was today named head of the agency’s Investment Adviser/Investment Company Examination Program.

Jarcho has filled the role in an acting capacity since March, when former program head Andrew “Drew” Bowden was put in charge of the SEC’s entire examination section.

Jarcho's career with the SEC includes time as the associate regional director for exams in its Chicago office, where she led multiple investigations into market timing and late trading.
