Cribstone Capital Management, an investment advisor in Brunswick, Maine, is going independent with the help of Dynasty Financial Partners, the firms announced Monday.

Cribstone is the latest firm to go independent and partner with New York City-based Dynasty Financial Partners, which provides wealth management services and technology applications to financial advisors that are transitioning to independent operations. In February, Mosaic Family Wealth in St. Louis announced a similar partnership with Dynasty.

Cribstone, with $425 million in assets under management, offers full-service wealth management solutions through offices in Brunswick, Augusta and Cumberland Foreside, Maine. It will use Dynasty’s open architecture investment platform, with Charles Schwab providing custody services.

Scott Upham, Cribstone's managing partenr and director of wealth management. created the firm two years ago as an affiliate of Ameriprise Financial. In 2013, Odette Galli joined the firm as partner and investment strategist.

Upham also announced that financial advisor John Duffy will join Cribstone from LPL Financial as a partner and director of retirement plan services.

Previous to starting Cribstone, Upham worked as a regional director at Russell Financial Services.

"Cribstone Capital Management was founded as a regional firm in Maine and is very much built around our desire to keep our clients’ money management services in Maine,” said Upham. “We have the opportunity to position Cribstone as a leader among New England’s top financial advisory firms. We have a passion for serving clients both in the state and those who may be at a distance but identify proudly and profoundly with Maine.”
