Ajay Banga, president and CEO of MasterCard, will serve as as chairman of the Financial Services Roundtable's board of directors for 2016, the organization announced Wednesday.

Banga is a member of President Barack Obama’s Advisory Committee for Trade Policy and Negotiations. He is a past director of Kraft Foods and has also served on the board of trustees of the Asia Society, the New York Hall of Science, and the National Urban League. Before he was at MasterCard, Banga was the chief executive officer of Citigroup Asia Pacific.

Brian T. Moynihan, chairman and CEO of Bank of America Corporation, is the chairman-elect. William H. Rogers, Jr., chairman and CEO of SunTrust Banks Inc., will serve as chairman of BITS, the Roundtable’s cybersecurity and technology policy division, through 2017.

Also elected to the FSR board of directors are Christopher B. Begy of BMO Financial Corp.;  John P. Barnes of People’s United Bank; William Emerson of Quicken Loans; David I. McKay of the Royal Bank of Canada; Richard McKenney of Unum; Robert L. Reynolds of Putnam Investments; and Amer Sajed of Barclaycard.

The Financial Services Roundtable represents financial services companies that provide banking, insurance, payment and investment products and services.
