Geoffrey Brown, a former management consultant, has been selected CEO of the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors.

Brown, who will officially fill the post July 1, will work with the Napfa board of directors to plan for the organization's future, according to the fee-only advisor group.

Brown previously served as an account executive for the Sentergroup, a Chicago-based management consultancy specializing in non-profit and association management. Prior to that, Brown served as association manager for the SmithBucklin Corporation, where he managed client strategies and operations, counseled association leaders and oversaw client membership and financial services.

Brown replaces Ellen Turf, who is stepping down after serving as CEO and executive director of Napfa since 1999. Napfa has a nationwide membership of more than 2,500 fee-only financial advisors.
