Members of the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors have elected two new members to its national board, the organization announced this week.

The two new members are Mary Malgoire, president and founder of The Family Firm LLC in Bethesda, Md., and Carolyn McClanahan, a founder of Life Planning Partners in Jacksonville, Fla.

Malgoire is a past president and chair of NAPFA. She was also a legislative representative for NAPFA, and has provided testimony to both federal and Maryland state legislators regarding proposed laws to regulate financial planners.

McClanahan is a former physician who switched careers and became a financial planner in the mid-1990s. She's been active in NAPFA leadership at the state and national levels.

Malgoire and McClanahan will serve three-year terms on the national board, which sets NAPFA's agenda.
