Concert Wealth Management will provide advisor services and back office support for Fontis Investments LLC., a new company founded by Christopher Mason and based in Bloomington, Minn. Mason previously served as a senior portfolio manager at UBS Financial Services and as president and chief operating officer of FINOVA Public Finance.

Northern Trust has made the following three appointments:

Daniel Lindley has been named managing director of the global family and private investment offices group. Based in London, Lindley will manage the expansion of Northern Trust's business in Europe, the Middle East and the Asia Pacific region. He will also have operational oversight of the group's activities in London and Guernsey. Lindley previously served as president of The Northern Trust Company of Delaware.

Michael Schanna has joined Northern Trust's Orange County, Calif., office as a senior wealth strategist. Schanna has more than 10 years of wealth management experience, most recently serving as an executive director and private banker at J.P. Morgan Chase and as a private wealth advisor at Goldman Sachs prior to that. 

Christopher Benson has joined the Denver office as a senior investment consultant. Previously, Benson served as a senior investment consultant and portfolio manager in Northern Trust's Boca Raton, Fla., location. Benson has also worked for Wachovia Wealth Management and First National Bank and Trust, managing investment portfolios for institutional and high-net-worth individuals.

Citi Private Bank has hired Michael Hatch and Tim Baughman as directors and ultra high net worth private bankers. Hatch, based in the firm's Seattle office, joins Citi from J.P. Morgan Private Bank where he was a vice president and private banker serving families and foundations throughout the Pacific Northwest. Baughman joins Citi's San Francisco office from JP Morgan's wealth management group. Prior to JP Morgan, Baughman worked as a technology and telecommunications investment banker, holding senior roles at Credit Suisse First Boston, Hambrecht & Quist and Jefferies & Co.

Barclays has expanded its wealth and investment management team in New York with the addition of four investment representatives. Joining the company from Deutsche Bank's private wealth management division are Mark Leyton as a managing director and Zach Shillingford as a director.  Joining from Deutsche Bank's private institutional client group is Gannon McCaffery as a vice president. Darin Laub joins Barclays as a vice president after 13 years at Morgan Stanley Smith Barney.

Bank of the West in San Francisco has named trust executive Scott Cripps as chief fiduciary officer of its wealth management group. His past positions include serving as chief fiduciary officer for Citizens Bank's wealth management business as well as holding senior trust, tax and estate planning advisory roles at Charles Schwab & Co., Grant Thornton and The Private Trust Company.
