BNY Mellon's wealth management business has hired Patrick Cappatt as a senior sales director serving wealthy individuals and families throughout the Pittsburgh region. Cappatt, a 30-year industry veteran, previously served as strategic global account relationship director at KPMG.

The Presidio Group has named Thomas Smith a managing director in its capital advisors unit. Smith will open a Chicago office for the firm. Most recently a senior vice president in the personal financial services unit of The Northern Trust Company, Smith also held positions with The Chase Manhattan Bank, Advisers Capital Management and G.E. Capital Corporation.

Morgan Stanley Smith Barney has reorganized its top management in preparation for longtime executive Paul Hatch's retirement later this year. U.S. brokerage operations head Andy Saperstein will run the investment products and services division previously led by Hatch. Replacing Saperstein is Doug Ketterer, who has led Morgan Stanley's high-end U.S. private wealth management business. Ketterer will now run that business and the U.S. brokerage operations.

Pacific West Land LLC, a real estate investment firm headquartered in Bainbridge Island, Wash., has added five new members to its team this year. Dennis Johnson has joined as leasing director. Johnson previously served as chief operating officer of Fischer Properties. Zachary Garrett is the new property manager. Garrett previously worked for Barclay Group, a commercial retail developer and management company. Laurie Wilson has joined as vice president of finance. Prior to coming to Pacific West, Wilson served as the director of finance at The Geneva Foundation and also as controller for the Kitsap County Consolidated Housing Authority. Meegan Kauffman is assistant marketing manager and Barbara Ward is the new accounting manager.
